Recognizing Symptoms of Deterioration in Patients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)

In this module, Recognizing Symptoms of Deterioration in Patients with IDD, we discuss symptoms associated with common conditions that can lead to mortality for this population if unrecognized.

• Identify the six potentially fatal conditions
• Recognize risk factors and complications for these conditions in people with IDD
• Identify often overlooked symptoms and signs of deterioration associated with these conditions
• Effectively communicate recommendations to providers and care team.
